Planning healthy and nutritious meals can be hard when you have an intolerance to different foods groups. I have an intolerance to gluten and dairy and have been following a gluten and dairy free diet for almost two years now. Although it was hard to find healthy and tasty meals at the start, I have learned many new recipes and alternatives that taste just as good as the original. Here are some healthy meal ideas and a sample of what I eat in a day!
Breakfast: Blueberry Waffles topped with strawberries:
When I have more time in the morning, I love to make mini waffles using my waffle maker. I use a gluten and dairy free waffle mix and add blueberries or chocolate chips to the batter. I also like to add berries, syrup, or coconut whipped cream as toppings!
Lunch: Quinoa bowl with turkey, avocado, carrots, bell peppers, spinach, and mushrooms:
When I don’t have as much time to make lunch, I like to add a variety food groups to make a healthy bowl.
Snack: Gomacro Protein Bar:
I recently discovered GoMacro bars and have one almost everyday for an afternoon snack. These bars are gluten and dairy free and my favorite flavor is oatmeal chocolate chip.
Dinner: Hello Fresh meal Barbecue chicken with pistachio white rice and roasted carrots:
For people who are new to cooking, I recommend trying Hello Fresh. HelloFresh is a meal subscription service that delivers meals every week to your door. The package comes with 2-3 different recipes and contains the recipe, ingredients, and any other materials necessary to make the recipe. The meals are very quick to make and very tasty!
