This year, my reading list was filled with stories about resilience, love in all its messy forms, and the quiet strength of human connection. From deeply emotional historical fiction to reflective nonfiction and contemporary romance, these were my favorite books of 2025
Kate Quinn never misses, and The Briar Club is no exception. This novel weaves together mystery, friendship, and history in a way that feels both gripping and intimate. Set against a richly detailed backdrop, it explores the secrets women carry and the bonds that form when lives unexpectedly intersect. I loved how layered the characters were—each one felt real, flawed, and unforgettable.
The Women is a powerful tribute to the women whose bravery and sacrifices have often been overlooked by history. It’s emotional, raw, and deeply human. I found myself thinking about this book long after finishing it, especially its exploration of identity, service, and what it means to come home changed.
This was one of those books that quietly reshaped how I think. Grit breaks down the idea that success is about talent alone and instead highlights perseverance, passion, and long-term commitment. It was incredibly motivating and gave me a lot of reassurance during moments of self-doubt.
This book felt like sitting on a couch with a close friend who’s telling you the truth. Dolly Alderton captures the chaos of growing up, falling in and out of love, and learning to value friendships just as much as romantic relationships. It’s tender, relatable, and deeply comforting.
Firefly Lane is about lifelong friendship—the kind that shapes who you become. Watching Tully and Kate grow up together, drift apart, and find their way back to each other felt incredibly real. This book reminded me how powerful platonic love can be.
Emily Henry does contemporary romance so well, and this one might be my favorite of hers. It’s funny, warm, and full of yearning. The slow-burn friendship-to-love dynamic felt natural and deeply satisfying, and the travel backdrop made it the perfect escape read.
Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Taylor Jenkins Reid has a talent for writing characters that feel larger than life yet deeply human. Atmosphere explores ambition, fame, relationships, and the cost of chasing your dreams. As always, Reid’s storytelling is immersive and emotional, leaving you thinking about the characters as if they were real people you once knew.
Looking back, my favorite books of 2025 all share one thing: they made me feel something. Whether it was inspiration, heartbreak, nostalgia, or hope, each of these stories left its mark.
